Here's what you need to know:

If you are a domestic abuse victim requesting to disconnect remote vehicle access, you must provide the following:

California Residents:

<ol> <li>VIN</li> <li>Proof of legal possession of the vehicle <ul class="circle"> <li>Domestic violence restraining order that awards possession or exclusive use of the vehicle</li> <li>Temporary Court Order</li> <li>Dissolution decree</li> OR <li>Legal Title</li> </ul> </li> </ol>

New York Residents:

<ol> <li>VIN</li> <li>Proof of legal possession of the vehicle <ul class="circle"> <li>Vehicle title</li> <li>Vehicle title paired with a lease agreement in the driver’s name</li> <li>Court order awarding sole possession or ownership</li> <li>Proof of marriage of the driver and owner of the car at the time the car was purchased or leased;</li> OR <li>Other proof as determined by the NY commissioner of motor vehicles in conjunction with the office for the prevention of domestic violence;</li> </ul> </li> <li>A written attestation that you are a victim of domestic violence.
